Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 4, 2026
Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data BlurQ collects and how it is used.
The Short Version
1. On-Device Processing
All photo and video processing — including face detection, text detection, and blurring — happens entirely on your device. Your content is never uploaded to any server.
2. Data We Do NOT Collect
3. Data That May Be Collected
Analytics & Crash Reports
We may use Apple's built-in analytics to receive anonymous crash reports and basic usage statistics. This helps us fix bugs and improve the app. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
Advertising
Free users may see ads provided by third-party ad networks. These networks may collect:
- Device advertising identifier (IDFA), subject to your consent via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt
- General device information (device model, OS version)
- Ad interaction data
You can opt out of personalized ads through your device's privacy settings. We do not share any of your personal content with ad providers.
In-App Purchases
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We receive confirmation of your purchase status but do not have access to your payment details.
4. Children's Privacy
BlurQ does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require an account and does not collect personal data.
5. Third-Party Services
BlurQ uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Apple App Store — for purchases and app distribution
- Google AdMob — for serving ads to free users
- RevenueCat — for managing purchase status
6. Data Retention
Since we do not collect your personal content, there is nothing to retain or delete. Purchase status is managed by Apple and can be restored through the App Store.
7. Your Rights
- You can deny ad tracking when prompted by iOS.
- You can remove the app at any time to stop all data collection.
- You can purchase BlurQ Pro to eliminate all ads and associated data collection.
8. This Website (www.blurq.app)
Everything above describes the BlurQ app. This section describes the website you are reading right now. The two are separate: nothing in this section changes the app's promise that your photos are processed on-device and never collected.
Cookies & Advertising on the Website
If we serve advertising on this website (for example through Google AdSense), the website will use cookies and similar technologies, including advertising identifiers. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites, and may collect general device and interaction data for that purpose.
Where required (for example in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland), we will ask for your consent via a cookie banner before any advertising cookies are set. You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google via Google Ads Settings, and learn how Google uses data from partner sites at policies.google.com.
To be explicit about the boundary: website cookies relate only to your browsing of blurq.app. They have no connection to, and no visibility into, the photos you edit in the BlurQ app.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
